Vinod Malwatte loves to work in the dry zone buffer zones – areas wedged between national parks and human habitations. Executive Director of Lanka Environment Fund (LEF) and founder of the Parrotfish Collective, he loves living in Pottuvil in the southeastern coast where the rugged and desolate landscape is full of beauty and mystery: sand dune beaches, spectacular sunsets, primitive shrines and ancient legends of cryptid animals and beings.
